COUPLES THERAPY
Standard Couples Sessions
Standard" couples therapy is recommended for couples who are not in crisis or urgent need of care. Couples should commit to making relationship improvements at a slow and steady rate. Session attendance is expected at a minimum of 2 x per month for the first 8 - 10 sessions, at which time progress can be evaluated. A standard session length is 90 minutes. Longer sessions of two or more hours can be tailored to meet client needs.

COUPLES INTENSIVES
Couples Therapy Intensive
Do you and your partner have an urgent need to resolve your problems? Are you willing to buckle down in a brief period of time?
This transformative experience is designed for couples who may be confronting a crisis or decision point, or may simply encounter challenges to scheduling standard sessions. Couples complete a series of assessments and interviews remotely allowing their history and treatment needs to be understood prior to arriving for 2 days of intensive face-to-face couples therapy.
In addition to reviewing communication and conflict management tools, couples will have the opportunity to address concerns specific to their unique relationship. Tools for reconnection along with a follow-up plan for maintaining gains are also outlined. Includes 16 hrs face-to-face time with your provider.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION
Clinical supervision is provided towards the following licensure types: clinical psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), and professional counselor (LPC). Clinical consultation is provided for providers working with challenging couples. Having spent 25+ years providing psychotherapeutic services to individuals as well as couples, I can support clinicians working with teenagers to seniors and relationships of all shapes.
My supervision approach is influenced by both developmental and multicultural perspectives, focusing on the collaborative acquisition of clinical skills to apply knowledge of theory to practice. I hold space for a clinician’s personal identities (i.e, race, gender, economic status, and sexual orientation) to embrace compassionate, competent work no matter the theoretical orientation used.
In a brave and supportive space, opportunities for clinical and personal growth can be explored. In addition to case consultation, the following can be covered in clinical supervision:
-
Documentation and billing
-
Review of OAR (Oregon Administrative Rules)
-
Review and application of supervisee's ethical guidelines
-
What happens in a Board complaint and how to respond
-
Developing personal style & niche
-
Professional development issues
-
Exploration of career paths
-
Psychopharmacology as an adjunct to therapy
Individual or group supervision / consultation may be offered. Please inquire about availability and fees.
